Tuesday is wary about trusting Pete when he says there will be a strip on Tuesday. So Tuesday is going to take a "wait and see" approach about this possible Tuesday. Tuesday is a smart one who is very suspicious of this Pete fellow... ---- If you are overly trusting, vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Remember to watch out for Pete's ninjas every day!

Does make it a bit curious why he'd refer to her as "what's-her-name", but hey, I guess we'll see what happens.
As an aside, Pete, you do know that those old Roman statues originally had paint on them when they were new, right?

Looks like Sparrow has a hand in their marriage. I gotta hand it to her, she seems quite persistent. That monument looks like quite the handiwork.

Looks like after 70 years of exposition and backstory, we're finally going to get an answer to Kiki's question ...

So, from the looks of that statue... Alligia tried to live forever, but ended up turning herself to stone?
Classic.

I still don’t understand how Soco ended up so god-awful ugly while his mother, grandfather, and daughter were all exceptionally easy on the eyes. Somehow he is even uglier in the statue. I thought these statues were supposed to highlight a person’s best qualities. (I sure hope they didn’t think the mustache was his best quality.)

Classic. I think it's jsut a statue sculpted for her. poisonivyy wrote: I still don’t understand how Soco ended up so god-awful ugly while his mother, grandfather, and daughter were all exceptionally easy on the eyes. The mustache IS the whole reason he look off. His mother was right all along.

I hadn't noticed their last name before. "Liber liganus" is Latin for "bookbinder."

This fact refers to marble statues which survived the centuries. The taste for marble statues came, when Rome conquered Greek colonies in southern Italy but we are talking about Rome 430 BC. That's still more than 150 years away! Like Etruscan statues, Roman statues by that time they were mosty near life size tomb effigies (that's exactly what we see in the comic!! Kudos, Pete!) made out of terracotta.

We know Pete spends a lot of time scripting and re-scripting. I wonder how much works he does on material researches.
