This is a bit late, but I just noticed: in panel 2 Quint says his book needs a "worthless title." One meaning of the Latin word "vilis" is "worthless." So "e-ville" is kinda a corruption of "e vilis" or whatever the correct declension is in Latin.

I seriously doubt Pete planned that all those years ago, but finding an appropriate matching Latin word was a good trick!
