1) Assuming that, because one Andorian had that problem, all do, is stupid. 2) Enterprise isn't valid canon anyway. Stupid show. The homeworld of the Andorians is ANDOR, firmly established in a plethora of canon predating that awful show. And seriously, did we really need an "explanation" for why TOS had crappy make-up (vis-a-vis Klingons)?

Allright, I'll admit it. I'm too lazy to rewrite my backstory.

Enterprise is a myth. Like Fallout 3 and Ron Perlman. Don't assume that anything on that show actually happened unless I reference if. And seeing as I didn't watch it, I wont.

I'm not sure I know enough about the Star Trek continuity to reliably play anything but a human. I keep meaning to rectify this, but for the most part I haven't found the time.

That is part of why we are playing in the reboot continuity. There is less of it.

Human-centric seems like standard Star Trek, honestly. TOS has one alien, and TNG two and a robot. Two of those weren't even full-blooded aliens. Starfleet is pretty human-centric.

If we need more diversity, I'm up for making Stone a robot.

This is entirely due to budget constraints (and then, in the movies, continuity constraints). Every single Star Trek movie has tried to put more aliens on the crews, in Starfleet, in the Federation, and just around randomly, but since the series already had static casts, they couldn't just randomly add aliens. TAS added two aliens precisely because it was easy to add aliens via animation. And the reason why I suggested Andorian and Tellarite respectively to you guys is because you're already playing humans that would act exactly like an Andorian or Tellarite, and thus you wouldn't have to change anything.

Science Ensign Shar, Andorian Orgin: Born on Andor, raised in San Francisco
S: 0 P: 0 I: 0 R: 1 I: 2 T: 2
Skills: Science Tachyon Harmonic Science Team
Shar is the fourth son of the Andorian ambassador to Earth, and as such, his prospects of advancement in the highly-hierarchical Andorian society were limited. Always a bright and talented child, he elected to try his hands at the meritocracy of Starfleet, to see if he could make a name for himself in his own right. He tries to keep his ancestry quiet, doing his best not to ride his father's coattails. Besides, his father has other children to focus his attention on, so what help could he really be, anyway?

Ok, at present I have eight characters. Two tactical, three engineering, and three science. Three are non-humans, and five are. I'm going to work on the first post and on paring down the case. I'll probably take six all told. I'm gonna try to balance things between classes and races. Half aliens, two tac, two science, and two engineers for balance. But now I'm going to sleep, because I just got home from last night. I'll post either before I go out tonight or tomorrow after work. I don't know why both of the tactical officers are Guy Fleegman. Nobody wants to be Sulu? Oh, and no changing your characters at this point. I'm going to decide based ont he file I have with all your guys in it. If you change them here, not only will I ignore it, but I'll be annoyed that you ignored me. Good night.

Sulu was Tactical, and he flew and fought the ship. Tasha Yar and Worf were also Tactical, and they bossed around yellowshirts. You boss around guys with phasers, you're Guy Fleegman.
