Monday gave me eight maids a-milking, seven swans a-swimming, six geese a-laying, five golden rings, four calling birds, three french hens, two turtle doves, and a beer.

What?

Ah, back onto the Christmas theme, I see. I was hoping for a follow-up with the Book.

Oh, and first!

Torg sure is a sloppy eater...
(They have a chandelier?)
I guess a nifty Xmas party will cheer him up...

Torg appears to be adjusting well, and right quickly too. The line about eating nuked buffalo wings like a civilized person made me chuckle.

Oooh, christmassy page decor.

Nice job thinking on your feet there, Zoƫ. Has Torg been playing Gravitational Chicken-Wing Ninjas again?

Pretty good strip. Didn't really click with me like a majority of Sluggy comics do.

I liked the "Those were parlor games *after* the civilized meal" line.

Panels 4 and 5, while funny, seem somewhat out of character for Zoe.

Actually, she seems kinda outta character for the whole strip.

Ah well, blame it on the book.

Well, she's acting, and wouldn't be perfectly natural anyway. She didn't seem out of character to me, though.

So, is there a fireplace in the dining room? Or is Zoe blocking more than just a dining room. It seems odd that there'd be no door directly from the kitchen to the dining room.

Dude, don't mix your songs, it'll give you a worse hangover. And it's "a beer... iiin a tree" if you're mixing with the Bob and Doug Mackenzie version. I'd quote it at you, but it doesn't quote too well. And I can't find a page with just the lyrics.

And today's comic, all I gotta say is "Awwwwwwww!" Reminds me of the one where Alyee filled the house with Christmas trees. Makes me feel all warm and gooshy inside. Which actually, most people are, really when you think about it...

Aww, they're trying so hard to keep the perfect Christmas for Torg a secret. Using Zoe to keep Torg out of the dining room is an interesting strategy, and Torg seems to be acting relatively normally given the circumstances.

Now that's a cute Zoe. :D

And yes, we see yet MORE aftereffects of the Dimension of Lame - he's gorging on non-ricecake food. Now we just need to see him guzzle some alcohol and we're set for a full recovery.

Pretty good and for some reason I really like Zoe's expression in panel 4. :zoe:

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this.

Torg is acting more like his Torgish self in this strip, which seems a little too quick an adjustment for me. Still, I wait (im)patiently for Pete to reveal all. I have faith.

(Also, I'm kinda bummed as I've just realised I'm going away for Christmas, and ergo going to miss the Christmas Eve strip. Curses! As if having a cliffhanger-y Christmas break is bad enough! At least there'll be a week's worth of shiny new strips to read all at once when I get back.)
