I am re-reading the archives and am up to September 1998. When I try the week view, there is no background, comic, or any graphics whatsoever. Same goes for Sept. 15. Here are examples:

Normal comic: Image

Buggy comic: Image

I get a buggy display for all week views in September 1998 and Sept. 15, 1998. I did not test past September. I do recall this happening with some other comics later on (right before the discovery of the original ROKEN picture, the previous week), and may pervade the database.

I do not know whether this is a function of my computer or of the database. I have read the archives successfully on this computer before, with Firefox (but a different version, don't know if the difference is 2 and 3 or 3.0.5 and 3.0.11.) a few years ago. I cannot replicate on another computer because I do not have access to another computer. I have replicated several times on this computer, with restarting browser and computer. If it helps, I have a Mac OS X 10.5.7 iMac July or so 2007.

It is also missing on October 3 1998, October 31 1998, and the first three weeks of October 1998.

I solved the problem! Turns out it was a software conflict with one of my Firefox add-ons. Turned it off and the page popped right up. Problem Solved!

What add-on did you turn off? I've encountered the same problem and I use Firefox as well.

AdBlock Plus. I created an exception for all Sluggy sites so I don't have to worry about it. Right-click it, say "add filter", and type "@@*.sluggy.*" without the quotes.

Thanks! I usually have that turned on though there are a few sites for which I switch it off. This will be one of them.
