Is anyone else finding that the server responds more slowly when making a post than it used to?

Oh yeah. Makes me glad I'm not still on dialup.

Yes, very much so. I thought it was a problem on my end, but I'm glad to see it isn't. (I was going nuts trying to figure it out.)
It isn't just posting, though. Changing topic threads, previewing a post, etc., all are -- or can be -- very slow. To the point that Firefox times out with a "server not found" type of message.

I've noticed that this does not happen when submitting a PM. Don't know if that helps in tracking it down...

Silly question I'm sure, but there's a database backing up this forum...has anyone looked at the indexing for it? If the indexing is broken then it would make sense that any operations involving searching or ordering (which could include INSERT operations, perhaps) would become less efficient as the size of the database increases.
Alternatively, something else is consuming resources on the server.
Just a thought.

If it was just something else consuming resources, I would expect all server requests to be slow, not just certain ones. So I would go with a database indexing problem.

It seems to me that making or editing a post takes a rather long time to submit. About 40 seconds, I'd say. And I'm not on dialup.
