Well, i am an admin of SluggyMare, that is kindof similar, right? right??
anyway, i'll give you advice, even if you do not want non-forum-admin-type advice...
my advice is, there are going to be people who you will dislike. they will make you Very angry! you're going to want to beat your monitor to death with your keyboard and then hunt the brat down and finish the job!
however, you will not be able to.
my advice is... to not act until your emotions have left you, and you are ruled by nothing but common sense. If you act on impulse, what you end up doing may not always be the best action.
to do this, i suggest literally getting up and leaving the computer, for however long it takes... and to go do something else (violent video games or long bike rides do the trick for me)

Create a mods-only forum where you can vet your anger to the other mods and share in their frustration.
Or get a Livejournal, and do so there. :)

Don't let people get you down. You don't have to take criticism: you are their god, and they should treat you like it. They can bend over and take it, or you can delete their ass.
Or you could not scare people away... up to you, really. Myself, I prefer the rush being an evil-God gives me. Makes me feel like a bigger man.

I think I will stay good and give the posters warnings before I lock their threads or stuff(unless it was like ten pages cause then ca-klick!). Or is that to nice to the posters?

MUI, MUI, MUI. And more MUI. Substitute "MWI" where appropriate.

Why do you lock at 10 pages? That's something I've only ever seen here, and it's totally unnecessary. I mean, it's fine for Sluggy.net to have its own unique rules, but why would you copy theirs?

I'd think I'd WANT to modle my boards, if I had boards, after SLuggy.net. Of all the forums Ive hung aroudn this is has the single best community, lowest flame level, most fun and is generally overall the most well put together. It stands out liek a beacon of hope in the sludge that is the internet. Forums should take some clues from Sluggy.net

We lock at ten pages because it's a good time to lock them...most threads don't last that long anyways. And when they do, they're often pointless and dying at around 10 pages. There are exceptions, and we often let viable threads go longer.
Mostly, I like the way it keeps a fresh flow of topics coming through the boards.

Basically, get yourself some minions. You alone might not be able to keep every single person, but if you have toadies to gang up on them to do your bidding...

Yes. YES. Whenever possible. I'll be doing this later.
