If you had told me back in 2003 that I would still hang out here in 2016, I probably wouldn't have believed you. But looking back it's not all the surprising. This place has always had warm, welcoming, intelligent people for the most part. And while there are a bunch of people I miss, the people who are here still make me laugh, and think, and feel.

:torg:

POOF!

Isn't it 20?

The scores are posted at the start of each new page.
I know that makes for a slow game but it does give me time to find the book within which are the moves.

I'm still playing, if there was any doubt. I mean, I'm in the lead. I can't just give up now!

In the event this game continues, I do hope that the scoring rubric will become clearer. That is, after all, the whole point of the game. However, it is something that I am at a loss to determine. That makes sense, as we have very limited data.

It would be nice to get enough data that the game can begin in earnest, there finally being enough evidence that the solution can emerge with sufficient cleverness. I do not think we are there yet.

I think I should add some info about the rules.
You guys have earned that much.

I take the first legal move from each post.
Each move can only be made once per game so if someone tries to make a move which has already been made, it is not legal.

I've had to be a bit relaxed on the spelling of the moves but only a bit.

hope that helps.

Hmm ... if it's one point max per post, we know that these posts all counted as legal moves:

Ah what the heck, I'll play too. Although, at this rate even making it to page 2 sounds like a stretch!

As a semi-permanent lurker of these here forums, I feel like you declaring victory is somewhat premature Funky Honky.

...and Dodger receives the kick off. He's off to the races! But here comes two defenders...who dive too early! Dodger clears both of them in a single leap! He's past the 50 yard line folks! The 40! He dodges* a couple more defenders. He's home free! No one ahead of him! The 30! He... could... go.. NOPE. He trips and falls. The ball is down.

Dude. Shoelaces!

*groan.

OK, I'm really only in it to get to page 2 and prove that Funky Honky hasn't won (yet).

Just one more and the game can start!

...oh, I get it!

I think.

What do you think, Dodger77?

Galaxy Hunter wrote:

"Not again!"

And that these either contain no legal moves OR that their move was already taken by a previous poster:
Funky Honky wrote:
I win.

Sitting in the winner's circle, Funky wonders: "Why the heck are those folks still running around?"

Naraht wrote:
New Challenger hopefully starting new page!

Maybe - bit rusty at the whole "forum" thing these days.

:pun:

Still no sign of land... how long is it?

And that spelling is somehow involved, since Steave gave us some leeway on spelling.

...

...

I got nothin'!

OK I have 3 guesses on the rules, and I'm going to keep them all to myself.

I have no guesses, but also no allergies. Not sure if this is to my advantage or not.
