Silliness is no reason to keep me away from word games! I've never played this one, but it certainly sounds interesting, so I'm in.

Okay, let's get this party started. Here's the game thread. Get posting!

Since this is the first round, I'll provide a little guidance at each step. All players should:

1. Find an obscure but real word, and post it to the thread, with the word itself emphasized.
2. As others post their words, PM them with a fake definition for their word.

Reminders:

• Don't look up others' words. That's cheating.
• You are trying to trick others into thinking your fake definition is the real one, so make it sound authoritative.
• Send a fake definition even if you know the real one.

Waiting on Funky Honky and Crake to provide their words in the game thread. Additionally Funky Honky, Crake and Grillick have not yet sent me definitions for "szopelka."

I sent Crake a PM yesterday reminding him to post, but I've gotten no response. If he doesn't post soon, we'll move on without him and he'll be out for this round.

Right, sorry. School swamped me. And I had a hard time finding a word I didn't think you would know, sluggites being crazy smart and what not. Posting in game thread jetzt.

Several of you have already posted your definition lists... that's great! The rest of you, as soon as you've got definitions from all the other players, go ahead and post yours as well. Don't forget to include the real definition! Then start PMing your guesses for the correct definitions in others' lists.

When you've got PMs from everyone else trying to guess your word, post the results in the game thread, tallying up the points that the players earned from your word. As a reminder, each player that guesses the correct definition of your word gets 2 points. Every time someone guesses a wrong definition of your word, the player who came up with the selected definition gets 1 point. If nobody guesses the correct definition for your word, you get 3 points. I'd suggest your summary write-up to be something like this:



The nice little summary at the end makes it easier for me to skim through and add up all the points. Once everyone's posted the results for their words, I'll post the total scores for round 1 and kick off round 2.

Did someone fail to send a definition to Crake?

I think he just missed one...
