ruins, under the roiling clouds of an acidic sky. no one left, anywhere, they were defenseless against the final onslaught. most of everything, blown to dust, slumbering for eternity. it wasn't fair, it wasn't planned, lost so long ago. left, as a sad reminder, it can always happen again. no one is ever safe. ever. someday, they may come again, and strike when least expected.

over the white-capped mountains, his love soars into a sky of cerulean blue, gone but never forgotten, ever longing for the return of golden sunsets, the warm feel of a lover's touch
I swear to god this isn't about me

Heh, I totally would. Eh, but I never knew the rules to Balderdash, or any other dash! Like the idea though, would love to get involved. Please explain it to me in depth so I can play?
Most I've posted in a week in about 4 years. Every once in a while I get that Sluggy itch, I dunno. !!! would be a great band to use for that game, methinks.

in the eternal light near the edge of the world the last of the elves gazes over reality, asking whether elves made a difference since all he can see is the enemy rejoicing in the ruins of his people's world never satisfied with mere death going so far as to invade every dwelling, knock down every wall, burn every book that they come across; all elvish history burning

The dasher posts two consecutive lines of a song (and gives the song title, artist, and genre.) All the other players write two lines that could plausibly follow the posted lines and submit them via PM. Then the dasher posts all the lines anonymously, and the players all try to guess (again, via PM) which lines are from the real song.

So, West Virginia There was this party out there Called The Red Party
Opposite that night There was a big metal show At the local bar
My old band opened A national act was there The Absence. Know 'em?
I said that I'd go Yes, of course to both of them Last chance decision
A Pisces moment 1. Walk to the metal show 2. Get abducted
Deciding factor The rain that was coming up How best to stay dry
Party was inside (And outside too, though covered) The walk wasn't short
FANTASTIC music Some damn interesting people On the Hurr-can* hills
I'll always wonder About that lost metal show I chose Adventure

water runs down a stream here grow daffodils
everywhere green sprouts ready to flower
emulating itself similar to this time last year
time immemorial here in this tiny field
every field in some ways the same always the same yet never quite
calling into the mind radical theories of time
over which many have debated since the dawn thereof
time in the field is odd indeed it's the same now as it was last year
cerulean skies above green growth forever year after year
unless one looks at the six-month gap now we see white snow in the winter
killing all the grass... more change you see in six months than in a year

Boughs hanging Overhead, growing and dying on a Yearly basis
I sit back and wonder Something seems off this time Maybe it's just me You seem to know what's going on
Forgetting things lost All forces press on Certain of themselves Ever confident, ever sure
Reacting, not thinking Everybody makes mistakes Darned masses

In the shade of a broad broad tree, There sat a curious little man, sighing, 'Oh for the life of me, Should I be sitting here and crying?
Oughtn't I be off to fix my wrongs? Kicking myself doesn't mend it And idleness will win no throngs. Yet what can be done? Better keep quiet.'
I dared suspect he spoke to me Don't say he had a phone and an ear-gem - It would be anachronistic, you see - Did I mention this was before them?
Nearing, I said what I could: 'Should shame be restraining your ability, Think how fixing it for good Gives credit for responsibility.'
Even though he had been speaking idly, This advice was not an offense. In response he said, 'Sadly, This does not fit your two pence:
Easily was the damage done, Impossible to restore. The words slipped and all will shun, Hate, despise, and deplore.
Excuses for it would merely bleat Repeating the curse; none would bless. For I have called - no, I won't repeat. Have I learned my lesson? Yes.'

No-one sees them. Over the hill they walk. The invisible ones Evade human sight, hide Very well in the shadows. Everyone knows they're there; Realistically, they can't hide forever.
Yet no-one has ever seen them. All we know is that they exist - Cries are heard on the hills at night, Rocks fall from the slopes, and Often food is stolen, taken up, Showing us that they exist. That it is more than our fancy.
I resolved to seek them out, Chase the demons from the hill; Hide they might from peasants - Although peasants are very good Spotters when they want to be - Peasants do not infrared or Ultraviolet cameras.
Now over the Hill of Invisibles Came my fleet of helpers, The undergrad students led - Up to a point, there was danger, And less education would be Thrown aside if they were killed - I followed at the rear.
Overseeing the camera screens, Never reaching the slopes myself; I saw everything that transpired And did not risk even a toe. More and more cameras I had installed on the hill; More to observe my defeat.
Perhaps some of the undergrads Really did see the invisibles. Every now and then, one just Stopped reporting in, was never Seen or heard from again. Every camera we put up, Destroyed from behind, unseen.
