I like the idea, but I vote we play with one book/dasher at a time. I think you'll get more people willing to participate that way. Faking an opening is a little more labor intensive than faking a definition, and it might get to be overly much to try to keep several going at once.

Good idea -- changing the original post to reflect that.

1 - I went to visit him again, today. He looks so peaceful.

2 - In a stylish house in the suburbs, a woman was crying in the shower.

3 - One of these days, he'll wake up.

4 - I can tell you how it happened. It's easy to say how it happened. He walked past a building, and a huge chunk of ice fell off the roof, and it hit him in the head.

5 - Day 64: Just like all the ones before it. I get up. I get Graham up, dressed and fed, and bundled off to kindergarten. Then I head over to the hospital.

Order of dashers: Kitoba, CCC, Stan Cold, Llefser

CCC and Stan Cold both have 2 points for getting it right.
Llefser has 3 points for getting it right and convincing Kitoba that his was the correct answer.

Hopefully Kitoba will do a better job than I did of picking an opening line! Take it away, Kitoba!

Wait, which one was the right one?

Be nice to us mere spectators!

I agree with Grillick. (And not in an April Foolish kind of way!)

Haha, sorry for my terribly uninformative post! I am trying to post surreptitiously at work, and when I claimed in my job interview that I am an excellent multi-tasker, that was a total lie.

Wait, if I was the worst player how did I win this round? Or does the loser become the new Dasher?

I thought it might be 4 but it sounded too much like something someone would make up to be funny...

OK, this round will be "Dhalgren", by Samuel Delany. A nameless, one-shoe amnesiac battles to discover/create his identity in a Midwestern city mysteriously transformed into an alien, psychosexualized landscape.

Wait, scratch that, better idea:

This round will be "Sylvie & Bruno". Two supernatural children wander in and out of realms of fantasy and reality, bringing a strange sort of magic into the lives of an elderly invalid and aiding the Victorian-era romance of a young doctor and an Earl's daughter, in this underrated Lewis Carroll classic.

Hmmmm.... how about you give me one line for each book. I'll give you all a big hint --the more bizarre you go with these, the harder it will be to separate yours from the real ones.
