To be clear: I don't think Dune is dead, because Freak42 voted twice today.

And possibly made two posts over the weekend as well though I'm not sure as I haven't calculated the time difference.

Yeah, I think he did. In his defense, it was in two separate threads; maybe he didn't realize it.

If anyone actually really cares to save Dune that badly, lemme know. I'll ask him to hold off voting Tuesday otherwise.

EDIT: This is why I asked everyone to state at the top of the thread which day you're voting for so that this confusion doesn't happen.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that FreakyBoy would.

Argh. I really can't tell what days he was trying to vote for.

I'm going to hold off fixing this until I can get some word from him as to which vote was for which day.

Freak42 and I are in the same time zone. It's clear from his past votes that he typically votes early mornings, our time. He voted Friday, Sunday, and Monday, and the again at lunchtime Monday, after the new post came up. Only that vote should be discounted. And it must be discounted.

No need to change my vote I wasn't going to try to kill Dune nor was I going to try to save it.

I appolgize, I voted on the first thread and then later that same day the second thread was started and Dune was back up to 10. I made the assumption that my voted wasn't carried over and did it again, I didn't look back and see that Dune had gotten a possitive vote before the new thread started. Honest mistake. It's still a lousy movie though.

So kill it today instead.

No matter, I killed it today instead. Really, it's not that good; I had a chance to watch the first about 45 min yesterday and realized I had better memories of that movie than it really was.

Drama over.

It's unclear whether Spirit Tsunami would have voted it down if it hadn't been at 5 when he posted, though. This entire game is now tainted. I will proceed with voting down the top movie every day.

Lets face it, that movie was going down one way or the other, whether it was now or next week. There were too many people trying to kill it.

That response is hardly satisfactory. Every movie is going down eventually. And besides, it's the order in which they go down that matters. Obviously I don't expect the entire day to be revisited. I'll just behave accordingly with my assertion that this game is tainted. That's all.

The first 45 minutes isn't really great. But the Fremen riding Sandworms into battle is awesome.

And I love the creepy child Bene Gessert. And Sting. And the Floating Fat Man.

Damn you all.

Sorry FreakyBoy but I can't get over the insane amount of painful voice over. I know much of the dialogue from the book is internal thoughts but they really couldn't think of anything better than having us hear the insanely expository thoughts of nearly every character?!?
