I am surprised that no one has posted about the voting yet. How has the experience been today?

Likewise, smooth sailing. I got a sticker; I hear a lot of people didn't. Lucky me.

Got my sticker earlier. No wait. Lines form once people get out of work but it never gets super crazy here.

I voted in person at a senior center around the corner from me. Four minutes of walking and a half an hour of waiting was all it took. The security guard at the senior center was hanging out in the lobby listening to the radio. The ordinary radio. With commercials.
Also, a lady in line was wearing an Obama hat.

Got a sticker. Immediately slapped it onto my forehead. Would've started dancing then and there if I didn't think it would send me into a coughing fit.

...aaand Obama wins it.
Our nation needs our president to be successful, so even though I didn't vote for him, I wish Obama the best. (Now to ignore social media for the next little while to avoid the inevitable gloating.)

I understand people who think that Obama is a bad President. I disagree, but I understand. What I can't understand is how any reasonable person can possibly think that Mitt Romney was anything but the worst possible Presidential candidate in my lifetime. "He's a businessman!" people say, but he was a venture capitalist in the eighties and he is only worth $250 million dollars. Either he was a mediocre venture capitalist, or he's lying about his worth. Incidentally, being a venture capitalist means he would have been in the business of "picking winners and losers," despite not thinking that government should do that: so how do his skills apply to the Presidency?
He has completely reversed his course on a number of issues in this election cycle alone, not to mention how all over the map he has been over the last fifteen years of his public life.
The Republican Party had an opportunity to select candidates who actually believe in Republican principles and have the skills necessary to be an effective President of the United States. But they didn't.
Anyone who is surprised by last night's electoral outcome needs to wake up and pay attention. And if you're unhappy about it, you have no one to blame but the Republican Party itself.

I had a 1 minute wait, since I managed to come during working hours. I don't know what it was like in the early morning or evening. And in a confusing move, I was required to show photo ID immediately in the wake of the ruling that we would not need to show photo ID. So confusing...
