I dunno, sounds awfully newfangled But sure, why not? Can't promise I'd keep up with it, but it's worth a shot.

I mean, I like Discord, but I doubt a Sluggy discord will be more active than this place. Also, in Discord you can really only have one conversation at a time per channel...

Yeah, I don't see a Sluggy Discord being that much more active than here.
I doubt I would even do that much in it if I were to join. There is only one server that I'm actually active in and we are getting near 10000 members, so it usually has something happening. Though the member count is somewhat misleading, since most who join never say anything.

Honestly, I prefer this old-school board.
With limited members, based around short occasional weekly updates, it can have many ongoing conversations slowly over days and still seem natural.
Discord is good for real-time interaction. If you hold a sluggy event, it would be neat. But otherwise unused, except for a small number, I'd imagine. And that only serves to fragment an already small community.
But by all means, there's no harm in creating one to see what happens! It takes a whole matter of minutes to create then advertise.

Well, I have a facebook page; but otherwise this is more or less it by way of chatting. And I mostly just use fb for the messenger function and a quick glance at how the other half lives.

Anyways, if I start a Sluggy Discord group would any of you all be willing to join? I would I really have no other presence on the interwebs except for the vile book of faces. I swing by here every couple of weeks and read though rarely comment.

Hey, what is up with all these OG forum members changing their names all of a sudden? I don't like it. You're clearly STEAVE, right? I don't want to be fooled again like I was with LobosSolo. And "Passiflora" --where did that come from. It's worse than changing avatars...

I think dues are something like $30/year and they do the classes via Zoom (they were doing that before all the Covid stuff).

I am was have been Steave. That is correct. Considering these forums were one of the few places I could safely talk about my gender way back when I was learning about myself, I'm disappointed it took this long to change it to Steavie.

You have a legit reason for changing it. You're not just doing it to mess with my ever less-agile and able-to-adjust mind...

I was and remain Thom Solo. :)
I'm on FB and also Discord, which I use for FFRP chats as well as Hero Wars and lingering Urban Dead contacts. Right now I'm on my work computer, but I'll pick up the Discord server when I get done in a few minutes.
