What exactly are the qualifications for this category? A few of those comics aren't purely web. Dog eat Doug for instance is in the local newspaper. A slightly unfair advantage in readership. I did vote for what it's worth.

Messaged Pete early this morning, he and Tom checked and apparently he can't post anything directly to the site, but thanks us mightily for any support we can round up here.
It also looks like sluggy's the only comic without a link, quite uncool that.
Not doing so terrific at the moment, I'm just hoping that's because nobody knew about this yesterday. Still holding a steady 4th, at least Remember, one can vote once a day, per computer. We might have a chance to pull ahead if we keep at it, apparently the first couple of days are always the heaviest voted.

One vote per day per computer? Does that mean I could go downstairs and vote twenty times by logging into each college computer in turn?

When I first joined the boards there were a fraction of the number of rival webcomics out there, and Sluggy was so dominant that we were discouraged from voting for it in competitions so as to "let the others have a chance".
Clearly things have changed. I don't think SF is any less the best webcomic ever, but there are so many others that it's fallen off the radar for many people. This needs to change...

Indeed, 5 people voted from NYU nearly simultaniously yesterday, it was quite impressive. :) And my home can manage 2 votes a day.
At any rate, I'm going to poke them about getting sluggy's link up there; that's just sloppy homework.
Ideas on reviving sluggy's webcomic fame sound quite timely. The Niftyness must spread toe the corners of the earth!

Well, I tried, but it stopped me after just one.
I think it might be a lost cause anyway. Never mind, eh.

ack, we are so far behind! We definitely need a front page mention; I think lots of Sluggy readers don't read the boards at all.
Maybe we just need to sic on the competition...

I voted for Sluggy, but I've never heard of any of those other comics.
Anybody else read them? They any good?
Or are they more gimmick driven newspaper styled strips?
Edit:
I read a little Day by Day...the jokes are either political jokes that don't really make sense except that they seem to be slightly on the conservative side, or corny gender-cliche based jokes. I don't see how these comics can be said to compete with Sluggy. Maybe it's a demographic thing...

Probably a demographic, since lots of the blogs seem to be politically based as well. Wonder if there's any other web awards out there, we should def. keep our eyes open to see that sluggy gets the nominations it deserves. :)
I emailed Pete, he didn't think he'd be allowed to post anything himself. I'm going to take a look at the rules myself, see if there be any loopholes...

Least I Could Do is actually a pretty good daily. (Current arc: A ghostly Keira Knightly leads the main character through a Christmas Carol spoof. Nice.) Still, nothing beats Sluggy.
