LOL that's right, I think you beat my own high score on that. *ahem* That was me. =) If that link is the second version, then I definitely played the first. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the game to load, unless maybe the site *requires* an account to play? edit: Hmm no even with an account, the game doesn't load =(

And I also can't get it to load.

Hmmm, it won't load for me either. I haven't looked at it about 5 years, but maybe that's why I never made any money off it! :D

Reminds me. Did you all see Exponyential? … Looks like I did not post that here. Copying from my reddit post: I like swap-to-match-3 games that make you slow down and think. Few do. So I wrote one of my own, Exponyential. It's still a little bare-bones (no bgm, non-MLP background), and a little buggy. The game is possible to win (I mean that in the 'sufficiently non-buggy' sense and the 'not out-of-bounds crazy hard' sense and the 'you will need some reassurance that victory is possible' sense) Highly advisable to read all the instructions. In the game, here are the hot-keys: h - show the help screen again p - show your progress and score q - quit back to main screen. If you lose, you'll have to quit manually, for now. Well, here it is.

How does the gem stone* work? It seems to allow you to make swaps when there's no match but I'd appreciate an explanation.
*or maybe it's a planet earth? I'm not sure. When you click it a little symbol appears.
Also, butterflies.
ETA: The Special abilities are a bit hard to understand. But that may be just me.

The parasprite (what you called a 'gem') is a wild card after you click on it. Until then, it stays inactive, so it doesn't go off by accident.
The special abilities - pick one, and you can do that one thing at the cost of energy. Which ones are confusing? Or do you mean the whole system?

It's just hard for me to visualize how some abilities are going to affect the board. But I think I'm slowly getting the hang of things.
edit: Also, can the game detect a loss state? I can't tell if I've actually lost or just too dumb to see some moves.
edit: The banish ability seems super bugged out. I accidentally banished a couple tiles and then the whole game kind of just broke.

I had a loss detector in but it was buggy so I ditched it. You need to q out.
Banish seems like it ought to be stable. I wonder what went wrong there… Accidental banishment is a big problem, though. I thought about making the abilities require hot-keys to use so you don't accidentally blow your budget on something silly.

Ok I'm not sure what went wrong that first time, because when I banished tiles, the columns failed to slide down and replace them, there were just holes in the board. But I just tried the Pranksters scenario again and won! (My first ever win!)

Yeah, there's some sort of bug, probably a race condition, that occasionally screws things up. I am in the middle of working on a big revision, so I may have fixed it but it'll be a little while before that is closed up and playable. The wildcards are still a little buggy (heh. parasprites are bugs. And so are the changelings I'm changing them to)

I think there's a bug with Fluttershy's ability. When you swap the butterfly tile down, I would expect the tile below to move up, but it stays in place. (note that swiping up works as expected)
Also, RE: Aloe's ability. Why would you *ever* want to reduce the score for a Pony?

I'll take a look at that; I think I fixed it already, though. Dodger77 wrote: Also, RE: Aloe's ability. Why would you *ever* want to reduce the score for a Pony? Suppose you have a first or second tier pony sitting there with a score of 9. If you score her once more, then you'll have to deal with the two ponies she'd split into. Shoving those scores down is a strong strategy for keeping the number of ponies under control (which keeps matches possible). If you can, say, have Pinkie up at the same time as Celestia and Cadence, then you can have 3 fewer ponies in the mix than you would if Pinkie's tree was also on tier 3.
