Hey Sluggites, I wonder if any of you know what the pun demon is and what it is supposed to signify.
By the time I started lurking in the discussion threads (~Oceans Unmoving), others were already referring to the pun demon by name. So I assume that Pete mentioned it early on. Did he give any details?
Occasionally, Pete will drop a spider or two into the comic (

I assume that they are there when fate (and I presume "fate" = "fate spiders") is setting up the situation to occur in a way as to change the fate web, presumably in favor of keeping this spark alive.
He also occasionally drops in the "pun demon" (
http://www.sluggy.info/search/?s=%22pun+demon%22). At first, its appearances seem to be random. But now I'm wondering if there is more to its placement. I'm in the middle of another read-through, and I noticed the pun demon taped to Noah Zark's desk (
http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20120725; http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20120801). Up until I noticed that appearance, I had always thought the pun demon was associated only with the main cast. Perhaps it is there because Zoë is doing her part to 'save the day'. But it is taped specifically to
his desk.
At any rate, I am now intrigued. Does anyone have any information on what the pun demon is all about?
