My guess is that the last arc of Sluggy will be Torg and Zoe preparing for their wedding with the last comic being the actual kiss. I'm hoping we get an epilogue about where the characters end up.

As a side note, I really wish Pete would go back to at least two comics a week. It's hard to keep up the tension and suspense when you have to wait a whole week... Although I was going to use the " tanning laser" reference.  Addendum: in rereading the strip I linked, it occurs to me that was our first example of someone " willing out" a demon possessing them. Gwynn just made it epic.

I hadn't considered the demon blaster possibility; interesting.
My spec was that the laser blast would bounce off Chaz's (assumedly shiny) blade, and hit something unexpected. Then again, that could be someone else's sight, e.g. the shrewdly appearing-and-disappearing Strom/Straw/Stromboli/Stravagazzi/Streptococcus.

I don't know if he's hesitant so much as it's out of his control. It seems like he's compelled in some way by the Demonmeet. At least that was the sense I got. It didn't even seem like he wanted to go in the first place. To either of the two we've seen he's been to.

Historically, it's put a hole in her that takes a short time to heal (shortly before she chowed down on Sam). A few blasts, though, could at least get her to drop the Book.
