Can't be. That girl'd be dead right now if it was Bunbun. Bunbun does NOT flee wide eyed like that.

Not really anyone from Sluggy, but if you buy the Sluggy books, you can see Ian's Bruno the Bandit in the background in Mercia.

Bunbun Prime doesn't, true, but the color scheme was more like Alt-Bunbun... and that was my initial thought, too. (that it was a nod to SF via Alt-Bunbun)

Well try this:

http://www.sluggy.com/daily.php?date=991028

Doesn't it somewhat remind you of a 8-bit theater character? Fighter often says "I like swords". There is a talking sword in that series too if you care to dig the right episode. (-;

OK that probably wasn't intentional. But if Torg ever says "I like swords" it will be an official parody. (-;

This referance isn't exactly a web comic but a novel but it is bunbun :bunbun:

The book There will be Dragons by John Ringo

on page 465 to 469 in the hardback book

a sample Quote

"Hey my job is causing discord. That and watching Baywatch. Okay, and killing telemarketers. Causing discord, watching Baywatch and killing telemarketers. That's my job. Oh, and trying to kill Santa Claus which is REALLY HARD WITH A MYTH," he shouted as if at the universe. :bunbun:

It goes on for a bit but it is really funny now that i know the basis for it.

Edit :ok i am a tool i skipped page 2 when ringo was mentioned

[Edited for excessive BunBun emoticons. -DD]

I'm new here. Been a lurker for almost a week after obsessively reading all seven years of Sluggy Freelance in three days.

I haven't seen this strip in CRFH mentioned yet. And there are a few more references in 1/0 (including one where Pete is called a borg).

The CRFH was posted back before the last crash, there's another one were a Bun Bun plushy is used to distrack the girls. :bunbun:
As for the 1/0, sorry but I don't see the Sluggy there.

Anyone remember a "MegaToyko"(?) one with the gang visting a ninja themepark?

I just finished reading through the archives and didn't read anything like that... (although ninjas are rife in that strip).
However, MegaTokyo does have a Shirt Guy Dom who does really really bad filler strips every once in a while, and in these is always trying to kill the artist of MT so he can take over... sound familiar? This is one of his first filler strip things (too lazy to go back and find the very first appearance of SGD).

And there's quite a few Sluggy references in Bruno the Bandit...

Very ironic, in hindsight, isn't it?

And, by the way, you missed one that I know of...
