Oh snap, that Kiki virus was only between Torg and his Friends and Scholock! I didn't think about that. I've wondered why Torg said ow on that one panel!
Anyway, that is an interesting question. Now that I think about it, Sasha seemed to only have a minor wound when she fainted so why did she faint?

With Crushy's ka-thud (I mean 'ka-clong'), I started wondering if there might be a pattern of passings-out. A streak of swoons. A keeling-over spree. A stream of unconsciousness.

No actually, I think the OP has this. This could be the big link between the current storyline and the DOR. Look here first: http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20000106Sam got a headache but didn't get infected. Just like at the NoFun corp hq. Here's my Spec of the Month/Year: The mutant pathogen is not the only problem. It's airborne and the pathogen's modus operandi isn't BIOLOGICAL. It's NANITES. And in the DOR, Riff is going to figure out that Schlock is the masterness. and he has the cure. It's used on Zoe, because the pathogen alters the body so much that the cure alters the body back. In other words, it cures her burns. Somehow he and Zoe get back over to Sluggy Prime (using Sasha's interests, I'm sure) and delivers the cure to a raging epidemic that is sweeping the country. Zoe and Torg hook up. Okay, that's my Spec of a Lifetime. Mark the date, kids. It may take a year, but by God, I think I've got it. Flame away. LOL

well now that I think about it, that's actually the only way for Zoe to still be alive right now because of the Nanites (if they were injected in Torg and Gang.) back in the Kiki Virus arc. Otherwise, (now that I think about it), what would be the point of mentioning Nanites in the first place?
But, still, I think you guys are digging to much on this. (then again Torg said ow when the EMP went off....)

I think the gooseberries was indicating something more... robotic. That's not a human thing to do when fainting. Notice how still Crushy is. He is shutting down, not fainting. Ever faint? I did once after giving blood. It's really not like that. And even if he did, he'll come to in 10 seconds and it will have been a waste of a comic. As if the pace wasn't slow enough.
Plus, I may not have much experience with EMP bombs... but I'm guessing it could definitely hurt someone that is that close.

Most conventional EMP bombs are powered using good ole' high explosives, with alot of copper wire wrapped around them. the overall effect at close range is more fragmentation grenade then harmless zap. These devices are called explosively pumped flux compression generators.

Well well, I thought EMP bombs were just a Hollywood invention. Very interesting stuff, thanks!

You're Welcome! :)
Lots of things start out as nothing more then Hollywood inventions. Then some smartboy comes along and decides that it would be really cool if that really existed, so he builds it. The classic example is how the communicators from Star Trek TOS inspired modern day flip style cellphones. Today's science fiction is tomorrow's reality.

We just needs those Jackets and Shoes from Back to the Future and some Flying Cars.

Seems to me that everyone who "fainted" should have died. Sasha? Gutshot. Torg? Fragmentation from a EMP bomb. Crushy? Poisioned.
Whatever Oasis has to keep her alive seems to be catching.
