Maybe Mouche being the only sister left gives her more power.

PP gets bored easily, so he'll want to mess with *someone*. If Riff doesn't rise to the bait, it'll just annoy him more.

...and now I'm wondering what's going to happen between Fly and Paper. A lot of this hinges on Gwynn's intentions and the specific workings of the mirror, the ball, and the abomination made of insects.

Do you think Gwynn imagines she can use the mirror on PP himself? And when will Symachus step out of the shadows regarding his commissioning of these random supernatural creatures? I'm almost positive these are his work, as with the vampires. What is he up to with all of this?

I think Gwynn would be smarter than to make the mistake of assuming what will work on PP again. Considering what making that mistake cost last time.

Right now, I'm thinking Gwynn had to have used the mirror on Mouche. The question is, how did she catch the fly-hag when she didn't have any magical defenses up?

Grenouille said her sister would be coming to devour Gwynn to retrieve the mirror. She doesn't seem like someone you could convince not to do that using speech or bribes.

Hmm... Maybe Gwynn had a bug-zapper that distracted/mesmerized Mouche...

Or she was lying. Trying to scare Gwynn. Mouche's charter is to devour her sisters if they fail THEIR charters. Or maybe it means that she has to eat more now that her sisters aren't fulfilling their charters. But Grenouille never said that Mouche's charter involved confronting Gwynn about having an item of the fey court. She just stated that Mouche would be coming for her now that an item had been stolen. But that might just be hot air. Or maybe Gwynn made her think that would happen.
