Nothing to do with the current story, but it occured to me that, if it was ever going to happen, this chapter might be the most likely to feature a return to Wispydale.

If nothing else, as a flashback...

I would love a KITTEN 3 one day...
SO, over-under that the very obviously disturbed, foreshadow-laden old man owner of the Oceanus is actually the current host of the Ferryman demon, or red herring for someone to accidentally beat up?

I'm reeeeeeally starting to worry about what's in that punch. Methinks Reno is about to take a Renosedive.

...and now I'm wondering if the Ferryman is not actually a man.

But rather a ferry?!! Possessed boat would be quite the twist.

I was thinking more of the "wo" variety (but I assume that was a joke).

Is anyone else wondering when we'll find out that Torg and Zoe (and, by extension, Gwynn) have vastly underestimated this threat?

Probably some time after Bun-Bun leaves because he got bored, remembered Baywatch is on, or found some shiny new distraction to motivate him.

But they have bunbun with them! And I don't think he was originally scheduled to attend, so they've got that going for them! Mistaken identity could allow Meander to assert control just long enough for Torg, Zoë, and (maybe) Bun-Bun to arrive. And yes, only to discover they've underestimated the threat... I can't imagine any demon being mistaken for long. We know they talk to each other, so they must sense whether a demon is there or not. But momentary confusion may be just the distraction needed...

I'm guessing that by now, any demon familiar with Chilus' host's appearance is also quite aware of Chilus' fate.
But hey, who knows?
