Yeah. It's just like the old guy that turned to dust when they used the book on him. Presumably he was too old to be alive naturally, but he didn't die until the demon was exorcised.

OOOOOOoooo...GOOD REFERENCE! I had forgotten about that. Yeah, I assumed that Tabby's host was still alive, but was just brains and skin at that point. And they still suffered from the possession, and could feel the pain of Tabby's transformations. But once unpossessed, they can no longer be alive because they need more than just brain and skin...they need their insides too.
I wonder if Tabby HAS to expel the insides. Or if he could just keep them inside if he wanted to.

But yeah, the Innkeeper was so old that he would have been dead a long time ago if it weren't for the demon keeping him alive. He was SO happy to be freed. Poor guy.

I hope Gwynn catches Tabby and puts him in his place. Tabby is definitely too dangerous to be out and about, since his hosts are facing death.

Technically alive, but effectively dead. Might still have consciousness, but he's not at the wheel and he'll be instantly dead the moment the demon is expelled. Short of 4u city nanites with a previous snapshot, there's no hope for him now.

What about zombie head on a stick? They could turn his head into zombie and remove the demon and have him slowly regrow… though they would need to cure him after that. Wait, could zombie head be possessed?
