I can’t think of a single reason why she deserved better beyond an unsatisfactory “everyone deserves better” reason. Her entire arc was her being a manipulative, terrible person. Her only failing was that her efforts weren’t good enough to get what she wanted, because other people were simply better and more powerful than her.

Everybody's talking like Kira's a demon, and I get that she's evil and scary-shaped and oddly powerful... but how does one actually *become* a demon in the Sluggyverse (aside from, you know, a poke with the squid)?

I'm hoping that's all it is -- unless the envoy is about to realize he's been had by the Strakoi so he can join the fight on the right side...

Torg assumes she's a demon because he sees a monstrous demonic looking thing in the midst of a horde of demons. He doesn't really have a reason to think otherwise, unless he actually saw her come out of the book, which I doubt.

I agree Kira got what she richly deserved. She was an evil, manipulative, murderous beeyotch.

About the only other one who deserves it even more is Chilus. Even if it means losing Meander. I seem to remember the human host is mostly "gone" after a while anyway, and Chilus has fully possessed Meander for years.
