About an hour and a half before it needed to be up, I knew that I needed to put up reaction thread for Wednesday... And that is the last I remember until now.

Annoyingly, yesterday I remembered and was going to put one up, but then I checked the front page and found Pete had moved it.

Good catch!

That brings us again to timeline related stuff.

Spoiler: show
In https://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?ch ... 2021-11-22 we learn, that it's 1983.
(has the date been modified??)
The murder of Ernest shaped Riff and Torg also remembers him so its reasonable to assume that their birthdate is somewhere in the 1970s.

Taking into account that both of them were in their early 20s in 1997 this would fit the pattern.
https://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?book=1#1997-08-25
This also fits with being in Junior High School in the mid-eighties.
https://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?ch ... 1998-11-21

So now they must be in their mid-40s but I think you can explain their lack of aging by some of their weird adventures (Nanites?) ...

So, a dinner date with hubby saved Lorna's life in the early 70's. And she has no idea.

Ernest, we hardly knew ye. Say, any chance his coat-and-tails were actually dark red ... like a red shirt? I wonder if Kira was carrying that semiautomatic in the same place a certain sociopathic bunny does.

As she was saying that she knew where Wilcott kept his guns, I would guess she moved it to the room directly from there.

"The butler did it." No matter what he says.

She wanted Lorna for the last murder, how fitting! But sometimes you have to do business with the help.

Well, eventually, yeah.

Edit:
Maybe i'm slow on the uptake, but i just now realized that wilcott has been talking on the phone to Tombsy, and Tombsy is dead.

The timeline has been fixed (check the newsbox, I missed it as well). It was in the early 80's.

He hasn't talked to Tombsy since he was murdered, in this flashback. Are you talking about when they needed extraction from the Mohkadun dig? He was talking to Tombsy's daughter ("your father would be so proud") who had apparently taken on the family nickname. And who is Chilus' boss, somehow. (See

Yeah, and the gang are 20-something because... look, people who have been reading comic-strip for several decades understand how that work. You don't complain that the Peanut characters are still kids.

In fairness, Peanuts doesn't have a tight continuity that references past events and the specific years that they happened.

But still, yeah . . . comics tend to freeze the characters' ages because they can.

Aw, darn, we were almost in a timeline where we didn't have to deal with Dr. Lorna. :P

To be fair, some of the characters of Charles M. Schulz were aging as well. For example Sally who started 1959 as a newborn reached the age of a schoolkid in 1974 when her aging process came to a halt.

But you can't deny that other characters are getting older, so aging is a thing in this universe. Agent Tyler is indirectly sent back about 19 yeas and lives through these years to return as an older version of himself.

https://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?ch ... 2016-12-22

So what is keeping the gang from aging? Nanites? Flux technology?
