Thursday was going to say something funny and witty, but nobody reads the beginning post.

Hey now! Don't say that you do! I know you're lying just to make me feel good.

Though... If you did say that you read it, then you wouldn't be lying. But if you say no, then the means you had to have read it and you would be lying. Except that would also mean people do read it and that would go against my theory about people not reading it, which can't be wrong since I know it is true. So that means none of you actually exist.

I mean, sometimes I skip them when they get too complicated, Zil. But if they're simple enough I read them! OH RIGHT, the COMIC!

Hm a pillar of reality can't exist in two places at the same time? Sounds like a bad deal to me.

XD

Just as I suspected. Well, I didn't guess para-pox exactly. But when the Bug started feeling unwell "25 years" after going to the Trent library, I did suspect it was because the other him was just sent back to the same time.

It's always fun when you get to see the same image drawn 22 years apart! Old Kizke is looking quite a bit upgraded

Makes me wonder though - having not done an archive dive in ages - did the Book of E-Ville used to be labeled in the older comics? Or was that just a stylistic choice for the Stormbreaker pages?

Look like there is still some more to tell about Edda. And Siphy II too?

Earliest view of the cover is here. That's from 1997, less than a month after the strip started. The cover says "Book -O- Evil."
When the Book surfaced in Trent, it had been slightly changed to E-Ville.
EDIT: Even though today's "re-enactment" of Sighard's speech has the diamond cover!
In the Cave of Yffi, the Book of Güd has a similar "Book -O- GÜD" cover.
By 2002 the Book had the diamond-theme cover.

So 650 + 4 · "years pass" + 25 = 679, so each instance of "years pass" was one year on average. Edda was Yffi's scribe for only four years.

So Ozzid brought the book back home. There they are now, the books of E-Ville and Uhglëë next to Ozzid's old cage, ready to be found by Wilcott Wilden's team of archaeologists. Or will someone else find them before then? 500 years only gets us to 1179, and only the flower demon page has been removed so far.

Why do there appear to be two Farahns in panel 8? One moaning but more or less together, and one melted but with no moaning linked to it?

Artistic oops or greater meaning?

Also, only two heart books still as of 1179. Hmmmm.

It's the graphic on Farhan's sweater.

I would agree, except it has teeth.

Heh, that's a fun twist on expectation. Instead of plotting during the appearance of his future self in the past, the Bug just had the temporal flu the whole time.

Too bad you can't get a paradox into a book. There's barely enough room for one doctor, let alone two! (rimshot)

It's a dynamic design.

Meanwhile, something that very likely has been mentioned before:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Trent

Sadly no towering bug demon or shotguns were reported to have been part of the battle in our universe.

Ah, the dread para-pox. And here I was thinking Bug caught a cold because Farahan is too self-absorbed to knit a sweater for him.

A good archives-delver should be able to predict times between the Battle of Trent in 679 and the gang making it to Riff's family home in 2021 when Poopy Pants will catch it again. Unless book-Bug calls in a Pair O' Docs to immunize himself, of course.
