The flying thing in the background is the Trevors, I believe. The Trevorstrat as it were.

Doesn't look like the Trevors. Only one head and doesn't look as skinny. I could be wrong but it resembles the flying thingy we saw in the anniversary comic.

I might be a bit late to the party, but to me it looks like Ozzid, or at least how he looked flying off into the distance after Siphaniana's death.
Of course I could be wrong.

I was thinking it looked like Kiki in her flying suit. But she's in Italy?

So how is it that Riff knows about a "fourth sect of Vampires in Alaska" (https://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?ch ... 2016-09-26) but doesn't know that the Strakoi *are* a form of vampire?

Doesn't counting to four imply knowing the first three?

My guess would be that he never encountered any Strakoi, as they are not allowed in the new world, and the vampires he hunted never bothered to tell him about them, if Riff would ever let them enough time to talk.

I think Lindley's question is what the other three sects of vampire are in that conversation if not Vorpyr, Strakoi, and Vryko. Seems like Pete might have forgotten, although there's plenty of other explanations with a bit of creativity.

Sect might mean something different from type of vampire. Also, we already know there's more than just Vorpyr, Vryko, and Strakoi. There's also Muffin the Vampire Baker vamps.

Yeah that's fair... Does make me wonder what exactly Riff learned about vampires back when when he was in Alaska. Also did we see anything with the Muffin ones that proves they weren't Vrykos (they seemed about equally easy to kill iirc, it's been a while though)?

Well, I don't know if there's any flat out proof, but they have those freaky buffy vamp faces which Vryko don't typically have and the lack of some distinctive Vryko traits seems to point away from it. For example, there's no evidence of the typical strong connection between master and minions.

Sam pointed out during the Muffin strips that "the local vamps are major wimps. They look ugly, they don't fly, and they turn to dust if you just poke 'em with a pencil." That was in his letter to Riff (in crayon!). So the Muffin vamps aren't Vorpyr, nor do they match up with the other three either that I can see.

It's almost as if it's a dated joke that will have no relevance, whatsoever.

You never know when a dated joke might have relevance. Look at the Book of Uhglee.

That is, of course, far more likely and yet somehow less satisfying. :)

I can't tell if staking or baking vampires would be more satisfying, so I understand the sentiment.
