heart book number 1 (of at least 3). Personally, I would have thrown one of those creepy torture devices out there. But I guess that's just me...

I'm afraid I don't understand how Torg thinks that distracting Gwynn with the thought of shoes will help her. Presumably Farahn would prefer for Gwynn to think about shoes instead of the page of binding and unbinding.

Seeing what the Book has done to Gwynn since it bonded to her, I don't expect a rush to pick up the 'Baby Book of only Slight Badness' ...

I interpret that as Torg trying to imbue Gwynn with just a little bit of extra strength to overcome Farahn, not as a distraction per se. Once that fails, he scoffs that Farahn is TOO powerful. To use a Physics analogy, the coupon is an attempt to surpass Farahn's coefficient of Friction, which once exceeded, it will be easier for Gwynn to move.

I have looked back in the archives and I can’t find out how they got to this place. They weren’t even talking about going somewhere just before they were there.

Farahn teleported them. Not sure how you missed that. Maybe you skipped a strip. For The Real Ghostbusters fans, it's the "Slimer! Pizza!" theory to overcoming mind control.
