Monday Tuesday has no idea if there is a strip today, since Pete hasn't said. So it's here just in case.

Torg's dialogue in this is kind of awkward. I think I get what he's saying, but I'm not sure.

I had to check that "brassieres" was spelled right. It sure looks wrong when Torg says it.

I really like the way Gwynn's eyes look in panel five

Torg: How did Riff get the book?
Riff: Ohhh dear friend that is an epic tale. *Ahem*, I found it lying around and took it.
Torg: did Gwynn get the book?
Gwynn: I found it lying around and took it.
Torg: "Epic" story huh
Riff: Hey dude, I didn't say it was exhilarating I said it was epic. Epics are short.

Wood doesn't "dry to tinder". Dry wood lasts for ages. It seems more like this scaffolding has been wet long enough to rot, even if it may be dry right now.

There seem to be an awful lot of flame-related references - the braziers, Vesuvius, Farahn's "old flame", tinder-dry scaffolding... Not totally sure if lighting the braziers is a good idea, but I guess better than falling into a sinkhole. Gwynn doesn't seem to be using her 'illuminate pleasantly' magic, which makes sense, given the circumstances.

Also that makes me wonder what their exit strategy is.

nifty observation! let's not forget (not part of this story) the book doesn't burn.

Long-time lurker, but something about the layout of panel 6 felt very deja vu. Off to the archives!

I think you're thinking about the cover page for the bROKEN story. That visual motif was used several times during the story as well.

I'd forgotten that! Let's not forget this, either: https://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?ch ... 2014-09-11
