Hey look, there are three new comics! I was just going to check whether there was an updated prognosis for when the comics might resume.

The feed seems to be broken. It doesn't show any notifications for the comics from July and today. Knowing about the "vacation" I wasn't surprised that they weren't coming. So, um, happy birthday Pete! I'm afraid my gift for you is more work. :-/

Heh. I was the opposite -- a friend found out I was a Sluggy nut, and he recommended "A Hymn Before Battle" (the first Posleen book). :-)

That was over 10 years ago. I don't remember how long I'd been reading Sluggy before that, but it was a good while.

I had never heard of this! This must warm any comic author's heart:

Quote:
The fourth novel Hell's Faire includes some Sluggy Freelance guest strips by Pete Abrams since the popular internet comic strip is featured somewhat prominently in a way. (A massive armored military vehicle is named after Bun-Bun the mini-lop from the strip.) Some of the strips are samples of the actual comic strip and others are an exclusive alternate timeline setting where the Sluggy characters have to deal with the Posleen invasion.

I have included "Dr. Schlock" in another context, and no one knew where I got it from.

Yay John Ringo! Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I spent my birthday with no power and burning power lines nearby! Thanks for the gift, hurricane Isaias! "2020! meh."

At least we've got power back now! I just need to make up for lost sleep! Hey you know what? there's something extra special about playing board-games with your family by candlelight with no background noise. Admittedly my daughters make LOTS of foreground noise!
