This made me smile. The Trevors are so sweet! I love the smile of happiness on Zoe and contentment on them.
Zoe's father's reaction is a good way to maintain the relationship without the pressure of sharing too much.

I *do* wonder if we will ever learn exactly what Trelloria did after Kiki got the gang away from her. Obviously he/she/it/them opted to dismantle the Anima weave, and make Trevors and Kiki's.
Wait ... do I sense a great bonus content for a future book? Or a Defenders short story?
And have to love the detail of Riff slumping down in the passenger seat trying not to trigger Min!

Simple test, leave out one of the subjects, like "you need to tell I", and would you actually say that? Then it's "me".

Ah, but dialog trumps all. You only need to ask yourself, "What would this character say?" and not "What would be grammatically correct?" Turns out, you should be lecturing Zoe's father about grammar.
