Poor Zoë's mom. No amount of Korean cat videos in the world could calm her now.

And poor Torg and Zoë and the others. They have saved the world, several times, but they got no money to show for it. What should they do now? Maybe the best time in their lives was when they were in the anima world in its modern-day era, with cars and technology. No monsters there except the bedeviled. No enemies to fight. No crime. And they had jobs and could live in peace.

Yeah, but their saving of the world almost inevitably comes with the caveat that one or more of their gang was responsible for putting the world in jeopardy in the first place.

It was Kizke, Dr. Schlock and Captain Botanical, so what do you mean?

Seriously? Riff had the Book of Eville, which Gwynn and Torg used to release Kizke. Schlock was only even in charge of Hereticorp because he had access to Riff's technology, specifically the DFA. I don't remember the Captain Botanical storyline well enough but I'm decently confident that Torg and/or Gwynn messed up in some way that set it on the course to being a major threat.

Captain Botanical went back to Orsintos--before Torg and gang's time. They didn't have a hand in releasing it, either. In this case they genuinely stopped a threat they didn't have any part in creating before it got out of hand.

KZK is complicated, both because of Riff's bloodline, and because they went back in time and affected things. It not clear that they haven't been a greater hindrance to KZK (storm-breaker, and resisting Riff's father's machinations) than a help, despite the summoning.

Schlock was originally a problem because of the nanobot-carrying time traveling, and his associate, the nanobot psychopath, was stopped by the gang as well.

No-fun, the Evil (TM), and other menaces were likely to have been a major problem for this reality, too, if they hadn't been stopped.

Yeah the bishop &etc released CB, then the students popped the concealment bubble that had been containing him. The Book brought Torg & Gwynn there, but it wasn't their fault.

Yeah. They originally summoned him, but that may have been the Book controlling them. Riff's dad is much more at fault. Bottom line I'd say Our Gang hindered K'z'k MUCH more than helped.

FutureSchlock sent Berk back in time, and that almost worked out badly. And don't forget Schlock was their roomie for a while, so he's definitely part of the gang. And of course Oasis figures into this too.

Torg and Riff are responsible for Aylee being there, and that tied in with Schlock too.

Not to mention helping to destroy the Punyverse, and ...

They just seem to be in the middle of a lotta crazy stuff. It's like their life is a cartoon or something.

I'm not here to debate which way they tip the scales on heroicness, I'm just saying their saving the world is generally tinged by the fact that they contributed in some way to the immediacy of the threat, which you can't really deny just by saying it was the Book's manipulation or Kizke might have gotten out anyway or Schlock was already doing bad things before he met the gang.
