As erik harrison has noted, the big bodyguard's anima appears to be a miniature version of the kaiju rock squid... which does not necessarily signify a connection, but does imply some of the other natives' weird-animal-form animas are based on local fauna.

So now I wonder if Giant Clawed Crabs are tasty or not. :)

It's rather disturbing that the anima were smashed to droplets. Does this imply they are physical beings? Or because their people were squished?

Cool monster. Makes me think of a Kraken crossed with Demogorgon from the Upsidedown.

What did Zoe see in the anima of the tribe leader?? Is it something that attracted the (seemingly anima-less) sea monster or even worse?? Will she 'work together' with the other side??

Let's just hope they don't also have versions of Aylee's species. Or ... the Caribs!
