Calix has now, a very special place in my heart among many other comic characters, like bun-bun, or Batman. <3

Also. heh. Amusing, and nice animations! ^^ Good strip Pete, But I can't say it's the best.

I feel like such a nerd for getting those jokes.
I like this comic. Just don't start doing stuff like that to the art again. It worked this once but probably won't again.

I still don't get it. I must not be watching the right movies.
Books are better anyway.

I actually had to read it twice. The pixel animations kinda threw me for a second, So re reading it made me get it.

Sgt Mayhem. The guy who was there for a little while in the very short zombie plotline who got arrested. Was in charge of an alien invasion.

...

Neat! Keep the back-references coming! I'm sure we'll find that Mr Wood, who Teddy Weddy chipped was planning to destroy the universe!

(^^^Rhetorical mock spec, not real spec! Please?)

Hey, an X-Com reference... er, excuse me, Z-Com. I guess there's no way to tell whether this takes place in the present or the past relative to Sluggy time... Well, unless there's a connection between Sgt. Mayhem and General Mayhem.

Er, actually, when you put Killum into the picture, who used to work for Mayhem, then I guess there is.

ROFLMAO! Okay, some of the last few comics have seemed a little weak and stretched out to me, but this one had me on the floor the instant I saw those graphics. X-Com was the best game I had on my 386... "outside the woods of North America" indeed. :D

Incidentally, I did get the game to work in XP on my desktop system... although that system's AGP bus failed that afternoon, so I'm a little leery of passing the method along at the moment... :sam:

Oh lord, this one cracked me up. X-com! Ha! Retro computer-game humor.

There are those that may not get the joke... but then there are those who spent an entirely inordinant amount of time playing that game. I'm one of the latter, so I say: HA!

Keep'em coming, Pete. Keep'em coming.

(As for running X-com on XP..... hrm. I heard there was a user patch out there that let you run it on XP, albiet at a ridiculously quick animation rate...)

Ok, I have to say, the X-Com reference is fricking cool. Second, The back reference(As BTS pointed out) to Sluggy of the Living Freelance is even cooler. Heh, private killum...

Unfortunately I'm a little confused. They stuck the rake into the time device, but after the explosion, you can still see their corpses. Did theexplosion only kill them? Or did they get blown out of time? Or am I reading too much into the screenshot?

EDIT: Ahh the punchlines just set in. Resolutions, and total squares. Hehehe.
