Now that was funny :) Was worried Pete was going to leave us with no Christmas when he went on break.

Oh...and

What possesses a ferret to stuff -anything- under the couch? It's just one of their things.

Eh. Amusing but kinda dumb. I could see Kiki stealing all the ornaments and stashing them under the couch, but the whole tree? Come on.

Um, Kiki is a talking ferret, there's an alien in a cocoon in the basement, Torg just spent half a year in an alternate dimension, their rabbit just tried to become Overlord of All Holidays...and you're worried about the plausibility of sticking a Christmas tree under the couch? It's a quick, silly joke, don't take things so literally.[/quote]

Even if some of the recent plotlines may have made a slightly different impression, "silly" is really what Sluggy Freelance is all about :torg:
The only reason it's not called "Silly Freelance" is because that would just be too obvious!

PS: /me wonders whether LadyBlanc's Avatar is supposed to be Tendou Nabiki or Zoƫ after a dye job...

It is Zoe, drawn by Pete and recolored by me. Though now that you do mention it, it does look a lot like Nabiki.

Oh, er--today's comic. Um...

Kiki has said this before; she tends to talk like a little kid when she's in trouble.

Edit: And what the heck is wrong with this page?!

Er...Your post is kinda hard to read.

And the comic:

HAHAHHAHAAHAHAHA.

Way to relieve the tension and serious spec, Pete.

EDIT - What on earth is wrong with my post, and the one before?

Zoe should say there's instead of there.

Funny as that is, I didn't think they were THAT unobservant. Another spell?

Something is wrong with Ilpalazzo's post, right at the end, probably some sort of html tag or something. Notice it occurs before his profile/pm buttons and the 'back to top' link.

Yay for everyone's favorite talking ferret! :kiki: Silly and completely unexpected, but that's what makes it so hilarious.

Also, Kiki's been talking like a little kid ever since Freelance Bums, not just when she's in trouble.

Also, what's wrong with the thread?

Edit: Cuz I'm not very observant

A cat can knock over a Christmas tree, given sufficiently attractive ornaments. I've no problem believing a determined, fairly intelligent, high-energy ferret can raise a couch. Would examining various applications of leverage count as spec?

"I'm shorry" : traditional tactic of avoiding punishment by sounding like a helpless little kid. Cute!

And frankly after all that decorating I'd have headed straight for the couch, too. "Hrm, this couch feels a bit odd. Whatever, I'm pooped, what's on the telly?"

OK, that was happily absurd.

Ooooh, hey, why are we dropping out of the table?

I'm more interested in the mechanics of how Riff got onto the couch like that without sliding down and squashing Zoe. :p

yup, its definately ilpalazzo's fault! lets get him!

i am kindof in agreement that this joke was kindof lame. Like... it was ammusing, but... just unrealistic.

ilpalazzo told us not to worry about something as small as not noticing the couch being twice as high at one end, due to the fact that everything else has a science fiction theme... i'd like to point out that everywhere else in sluggy things have made perfect sense, from a personality perspective. Laws of science aside, nothing unrealistic has ever really happened.

i dont think it Matters, it was just a little joke, kindof a... "made you look" thing. but i do think it being unrealistic is a legitimate complaint, i dont see the point in trivializing it

...Oh so you don't THINK a ferret is capable of stealing Christmas?

You've obviously never owned a ferret. My little devil has stolen at least FOUR presents out from under the tree, and broken at least THREE glass balls from the tree itself.

He also has an affinity for candy canes...but thank god those are all too far up for him to reach.

I laughed so hard seeing today's comic...that tree all dragged under as if someone wouldn't notice. :kiki:

Some of you are thinking way too much. The absurdity of the comic is what makes it funny.

Esspecially after reading yesterday's speculation, this made me laugh. Heehee! Kiki stole Christmas and hid it under the couch!
