I wouldn't call it anticlimactic, really. I mean, we only had one comic of set-up, it wasn't like there had been a week or two of build-up to this revelation.

Um, Kiki is a talking ferret, there's an alien in a cocoon in the basement, Torg just spent half a year in an alternate dimension, their rabbit just tried to become Overlord of All Holidays...and you're worried about the plausibility of sticking a Christmas tree under the couch? It's a quick, silly joke, don't take things so literally.
