In today's comic https://archives.sluggy.com/daily.php?date=2020-11-10, "discrete" should be "discreet".

Don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but on this strip
https://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?ch ... 2014-02-18
3rd frame, it should be "Skip has a strong lead brinGing K'Z'K back"

Also, I think this thread would really benefit from having at the first page a compendium of all the collected errors so that it is not brought more than once.

Maybe it's time to start a new thread where the first (or second) post would do that?

My bad. Thank you, I fixed it.

A compendium already exists (as I have mentioned more than once in this thread):

https://archives.sluggy.com/daily.php?date=2020-11-12, footnote.

So many odd characters from storties from years ago.

Should be "stories" - without the extra "t".

Oh nice, sorry to have missed that. How do you keep track of when a typo is fixed? Is there some kind of notification you receive when the spelling has been corrected?

I had to look them both up, but yes, I believe "discreet" is the right word.

discrete = "individually separate and distinct"

discreet = "careful and circumspect in one's speech or actions"

So unless Basphomy is telling Stiks to split into pieces.... :)

Dontcha just love English though!?

Like "affect" vs "effect" ... or how there are 10-11 different pronunciations for "ough" ...

Well, at the moment there is no set method for that. I have intended to go back and check to see if I can remove some of them, but I'm so far behind in everything else I am doing.... ...and the last time I did start to look just out of curiosity, most typos were still there.

If Pete responds either here or in regular reactions that he's corrected something, I do try to make it a point to adjust the transcript appropriately. But I think I put Pete in a state of deflated shock the first time I mentioned the list. LOL.

Postcript: Along those lines... "Flag" in the transcripts does not have the affect that you might think. The tool was added back when several of us were transcribing 10-15 years of comics. At that point "Flag" on a transcript would simply put it forward as the first transcript for the next person transcribing to check. Once we caught up and I found myself "in charge", I discovered that there were security issues with leaving the transcripts unlocked. So I went through the 10-15 years of transcripts, cleaned them up (I hope) and locked them as I went. And have continued to lock them as I have transcribed the following 5-10 years. So "flag" no longer works as intended.

If any of you see a typo that I made (or missed) in the transcripts, or anything else wrong with the transcripts, I check this thread and also keep an eye on anything in "Sluggy Related Chat", if you prefer to set up a separate thread.

GuiGui and I have already established (in the MegaSpeculation Thread in Sluggy Releated Chat) that umlauts (or other special characters) are a problem now with NiftySearch. :-( So a search for Zoë/Zoe will not turn up all of her appearances (for instance). Not sure what to do with this issue for now, since I am not in control of the software used...

Well, in that case, unless it's intentional, you spelled the name of Qaboos wrong in once instance, typing "Quaboos" instead, there:
http://sluggy.info/search/?s=quaboos

What does the Flag button do, now, if it works differently?

Also, thanks a lot for this great tool. You have no idea how helpful it has been.
