I love that Sam is so pivotal here! I also appreciate the evolving messages on Torg's shirt...I think it still says"Getting warmer"

There is something odd here. Why does he insist even to Torg that he can't remember? Did he promise someone?

Have we seen this mirror in a previous Arc? I can't help but feel like it was seen before. Silverwalker wrote: There is something odd here. Why does he insist even to Torg that he can't remember? Did he promise someone? Yes, to Torg:

Their 'plan' now depends on Sam pulling it off and saving everyone? Gwynn is missing and presumed useless and Torg just gets skull-scooped every time. And now Sam grabs the Book of Ughlee and escapes with Torg?

Sam's (slightly terrified but still) da maaaaaaaan!
Also, I'm getting vibes from a Cheeseburger Brown story about mountain climbing on Mars (but with more evil intent).

I'm not sure how she realized that Sam is unaffected here. All he said is "let her go please!" and "But....but..." Edit: Oh. maybe because his eyes aren't glowing red after looking at the mirror like Torg? I guess that's it. Good job snatching the book back though!

I don't think it's the eyes or she would have noticed earlier probably. More likely it's that he was protesting when he should have been stupefied.

But that would assume he was smart enough to act stupefied the previous times. And "Sam" and "smart enough" in the same sentence causes a catastrophic rift in the fabric of space-time.

Occasionally Sam does rise to the occasion when quick thinking is needed. Of course, it never lasts long (as that strip also demonstrates) but when his friends are in danger he is more likely to think clearly.
