Well, this one was a bit of a rollercoaster. The beginning appeared to point one way, and the end pointed in the opposite direction. Still uncertain which way it will fall though.

Oof. I am genuinely not sure which way we've gone here -- though given that it's much worse as reality, I'm leaning toward accepting Pete's narrative at face value.
Interesting that Gwynn's eyes are consistently creepy for this whole strip -- despite the normalcy of the rest of her appearance.

The second one is certainly pertinent, but K'Z'K was able to reach out in dreams when they were stuck in a scroll before the book was made. He needed Farahn's permission to able to do it, apparently, which is why he likely can't now (doesn't have Riff's permission), but he doesn't need a book. https://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?ch ... 2021-04-216th panel makes it clear he already has the power and this was right at the beginning of their being trapped.
