Didn't know Torg and Zoe had become vampires. Can't get in without an invite.

So THAT'S what happened with Sam.
Seriously though, this is uncharacteristically resigned Torg. Is he even trying?

I feel like there's been a... not exactly fatalistic, but much-more-willing-to-resign-himself-to-misfortune edge to Torg that's been growing over the years, during and after the war with HeretiCorp especially. Which I guess makes sense: we see here and there that all the losses he's had to deal with have hardened him in ways he doesn't like to let his friends usually see.

Yeah, this whole dialogue feels like a setup for whatever comes next (which I guess is pretty generic, since that's ALWAYS what dialogue should be doing, among other things, but this isn't spec land, so I should probably hush now).
I agree that this is a newer Torg Of Sadness -- and I really want to know what the Bun has up his cute little furry sleeve.

YES! Powers of observation for the win! I noticed that Meander had a backpack when she came in and wondered what was in it. Made the comment in "Speculations":
"In looking back at previous comics, I re-noticed that Meander had a backpack on her when going into the Oceanus. Not sure what happened to it when she got inside, as I don't see it any longer. But I wonder what she has in there. She came prepared?"
GO MEANDER. Hope that something in there can help her.
Also, I noticed that Stevie has the crazy bulgy/wonky eyes that Becky did when her possessed self came to the forefront. I wonder if that is a feature of the Ferryman's demons. Ewww.

Stevie looked totally normal a few minutes ago... So does the demon-lock on the house deflect magic? Seems like a great time to throw a few demon-trapping spells through the front door.

I guess it still calls back to Torg wanting out and not caring about saving the world anymore...he just wants his small piece of heaven for him and Zoe (and existing barnyard friends).
Why does he need to adopt a new deeply troubled responsibility (Meander) and keep hunting more demons? He has a fair point. Why does it always have to be him? Hasn't he done enough? When will he earn his rest?

I guess, but Torg still seems pretty intent on hunting monsters. That doesn't seem to jive with the image of the Torg who wants out.
Then again, maybe his perspective changed after watching that dude nearly take out Zoe.

When will he earn his rest? At the same time, this is what he does. This is what he's always done. It's hard to give up on something you've put so much time and effort into. Who are you when you're no longer that person? Desire for rest conflicts with desire to be.
