Biscuit,

You raise a very good point. However, in most science fiction, Sluggy included, aliens exhibit emotions that are understandable and predictable from a human standpoint - inferring similar biochemical mechanisms regardless of the physical differences. That orientation may very well be a poor assumption on the part of sci-fi writers, but it works for most storylines.

And unfortunately, Gwynn is not the greatest choice. She tends to be pretty selfish and self-centered. Not always, but usually.

Also, let's not forget Aylee has been changing herself to actually become more human.

This plus Aylee evolves and changes to adapt to her environment. Since the Aylee chapter this seems to have meant becoming more like humans. It would be reasonable to think she would react similarly on a biochemical level because that would help her fit in more.

I like this explanation, because even if she has developed an analogous way to creating and processing feelings as humans do, perhaps this is the first time she feels affection and/or love in this particular human way. We've seen her have feelings before, but the new ways in which her body must work in her human form could be making the confusion worse.

This is hardly her first experience. She's felt painfully rejected/neglected before, e.g. https://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?ch ... 2013-06-28

I don't want the other characters to be so mad at Torg though! Everyone needs some down time to relax and decompress, but it's not going to happen for a while...

There seem to be a lot of emotions running wild and basically incapacitating the characters. Haven't seen that in about 8 years.

Yeah. That's weird...

Not sure why it was like that. No way it's been a sticky this entire time and just now noticed it.
