I apologize for resurrecting last year's Dragon*Con thread, but for some reason the forum won't let me post a new topic. Regular posters cannot post in the Important Threads forum. Usually a Thread will get started in GC, then one of us mods will move it up here. It's ok though, let this thread live again! - GActually, it's too confusing having this year's tacked onto last year's, I'm splitting this off. - WESo I have two questions about D*C this year. 1) Who's going? :) 2) Does anyone need a roomie? ;) The Sheraton cancelled my reservation unexpectedly (credit card declined... I was going to give them a new card anyway, but didn't do so in time and by the time I got the message that it was cancelled, it was too late), so I find myself in need of a place to crash. Kahn can vouch for me as a roomie, if anyone needs references. I do have an emergency backup room available, so don't feel bad if you don't have the space; I just told them that I would check for other options over this next week. :) Thanks!

I can and in fact do vouch for Thom as a roommate. He's about the easiest person to sleep in a hotel room with that I've ever known.
Hmm. I'm not sure that came out precisely how I meant it... But that has nothing to do with anything.
Anyway, anyone with space should bring him in. Because I can tell you from experience, he would do the same for you.
Also, if it happens to come up, he's a rocking Sluggy Triva partner. And if you can't rely on your roommate to play Sluggy Trivia with you, on whom can you rely? :)

Thanks to the Mod Squad for getting this thread started properly. Next year I'll know how to do it right!
My emergency backup room is with two local friends, who were happily anticipating each having their own bed for the con. So I felt kinda bad about asking them... and Sluggites are generally fun people, so I figured I'd drop a line here. :D Either way, I get to room with some cool folks.
Thanks for the Sluggy Trivia props, Kahn! I'm eager to try out the Sluggy RPG this year; I did register for one of the Sunday slots, IIRC. So that'll be Nifty!
I can't wait!

Con recap! (It's only been a week....)
My backup plan worked wonderfully; I took an air mattress down and set it up on the floor against one wall, so all three of us had our own bed space. :D As always, I had a wonderful time at the con, mostly hanging out in the film room or one of the panel rooms (either Pern or Stargate). Didn't meet any new Sluggites whose name I recognized, but if anyone was at the Sunday session of the Sluggy RPG, I was the skunk with the aromatherapy line. :) I did take some pics of the game session, and will post ASAP. :D
That was a much better recap than the one I gave of "the game so far". ;)

I'm very glad to hear Dot got boingboing'd... But for her sake, I hope it happens a little more often than the sort of thing you announce on "Important Threads," y'know?

heheheheh Well, with a 3 year old in the house, and videogames, it doesn't happen as much as you'd think. :P (edit: just to be clear, I'm the one who took the picture, not the one in the costume!)
