Very nice. I suppose the cocoa bean trees might be the more difficult, then. If we're going that far for them we may as well build a parallel greenhouse system for cinnamon trees, too.

Honestly, the biggest difficulty would probably be persuading David to use the colony's resources in some way which is not a laser-like focus on getting the greatest amount of food possible in order to wake up the greatest number of people possible.

Granted it takes a couple of years to get going, but an acre of bananas will produce in the neighborhood of 6 times the calories of an acre of maize. Trees are very efficient food producers. Frankly, that orchard will probably seriously jumpstart waking people up when it gets back in production.

I'll be looking into ways to make them grow faster. Just gotta consult with a couple people about it.

Also I could probably get the Captain to override David if I can convince him it would be a good idea.

Getting the Captain to override David is one possible solution, yes. There should always be multiple ways to solve problems.

Of course I could just convince David. If I manage to work out a few favorable deals that'll help boost the colony's growth potential then setting aside resources for a personal project of mine that might yield long term positives wouldn't hurt too much.

Actually... how self contained are the ship's indoor farming spaces? It's entirely possible some areas could be set up for growing trees and simulating tropical conditions. Not everything would be grown using hydroponics so having some space set aside for conversion into miscellaneous farm planters might work out. Just gotta get suitable soil to it.
Converting existing space inside the ship might be easier than simply building a whole greenhouse. Especially if storage facilities could be reconfigured using prefab walls as items are pulled for use outside the ship.

Pretty self-contained. And yes, on a purely technical level, some areas *could* be set to simulate tropical conditions.
The major obstacle is not technical. It is administrative.

I don't suppose the movie night included The Wizard of Oz?

It did not, though the film almost certainly does exist on the servers. It's always possible that it was played while the party was out of the Ship and Piper was bilocating herself.

Next movie night I want to watch Pacific Rim. Or Star Wars.

Lumber products aren't usually light or high value; how does the village usually transport their goods these days?

River. The trunks are tied together and dropped into the river on this end, then picked up and dragged out downtown.
If you had a canoe, and didn't mind navigating the occasional (small) waterfall and dodging the logs, you could head out of town the same way. But the river is not navigable by truck.

I'm keeping an eye on things, guys. When we're in between battles though I find it hard to think of things for Roger to do.
