That reminds me. If we wanted a sample of penicilin mould, why didn't we just leave some bread out on the table for a few days?

The ship would have presumably been too clean for that, I think, and we didn't know if any local fungi would even have any penicillin-like qualities.

That local microbes secrete goo to suppress their competition is pretty much a given. It's a matter of finding one that isn't poisonous to people. But if they haven't long since died, the ship would have a stockpile of useful spores including penicillium mold (not that it's terribly useful any more, but what the heck).

Not, I suppose, that it will be hard to get a sample of e coli... Probably in spore form. Only the spores no longer appear to be there. balthazar wrote: That reminds me. Well, something would eventually start growing on the bread, and would need to be promptly analysed by Dr. Vanderbilt in the medical lab to see if it's useful as an antibiotic...

Arkady might get fetched, he might not. The kitten may escape, it may not. We will see...

I think the kitten has a good chance.

How often do I get new gadgets, again? I forgot the rules. Is it once per thread or are we using some other unit of measurement?

Once per scene. You"re free to universal-gadget right now if you like.

I've been sitting on my universal gadget for a while now. Since I get one so rarely I hardly ever feel like it's a good time to use one. Wish I could better anticipate when these scene transitions happen.

Next scene transition should happen when you leave Castle Radun.

I'll think about what I want to make happen. Can I say that Felix has a glass bottle of methanol that he fashioned into a molotov without using that stunt?

A molotov isn't really a gadget. If you want one, you could just spend a FATE point and say you have it. That said, a shotgun loaded with dragon's breath rounds might count as a gadget, and if it doesn't, I'll spend a FATE point to get one. Provided fire is useful, of course.

I imagine fire is either really good or really bad. As a smoke or vapor, it's probably easily combustible. It's also maybe just a tad bit highly explosive.

A shotgun you can just have. Having dragon's breath rounds in your pocket will take a FATE point. It might be worthwhile to wait and see what happens with the torch before spending FATE points on fire-based attacks, though.
