edit: OOC: There's a pretty big divide, and this game has been dragging, so I'm giving 24 hours from now (so, by 5pm EST Friday) for you all to vote, post, change your minds, or what have you.

Damn it all. Fine. I can't see a better choice, and there's not much chance of changing things now anyway.

Forgive me, Lucas. I can only hope that you truly are a wolf.

"Lucas, you have been chosen by your peers to die today. Have you any last words?"

OOC: Werewombat: post a death scene.

"None." Lucas's face goes hard. He stands still, glaring balefully at Gregor, until one of Lord Robert's soldiers shoves him to his knees. The soldier raises his sword and brings it down toward Lucas's neck, but he is not there. Changing instantly into a monstrous wolf, he leaps forward toward Lord Robert, only to be spitted on another soldier's blade. As black blood pours from his heart, the wolf sinks slowly to the ground, his eyes fixed on Lord Robert. The wolf keeps staring at Lord Robert for several minutes before it finally shuts its eyes.

Lord Robert studies the cooling corpse, considering his next words.

He looks at the town. "You have chosen...wisely. For once. Only one wolf remains. I wish you all the best of luck this night."

Joseph spits on the wolf as he nods to the others. "Gregor, I won't doubt you again. I hope this also proves my innocence to the rest of you." He walks home for the night with a determined look on his face.

*Mervyn sinks to his knees*

Whew. Scared the daylights out of me! But at least I can go home with a clean conscience.

Good night all.

*He stops by Gregor as he leaves*

Watch your back, they may come for you tonight.

*He looks over at Moses and Charity*

You two, be careful as well. I'd hate to see any more innocents die. Me, I'm giong to go bar up my door with some of the stone I've got lying around. See if they can scratch through that!

As the wolf changes, Gregor steps back, clutching his book to his chest. When it falls, his breathing is haggard, his face flushed. He stares wide-eyed at the corpse, then, slowly, takes a breath and lowers his head. "I did not think I would be right. This changes... everything."

Gregor nods to Mervyn, holding his book.

"If I die tonight, I will not leave you without guidance. I only hope I can find some connection to Lucas to reveal the final killer."

Face still slightly flushed, Gregor turns to return to his home.

Alexander breathes a sigh of relief, eyes closing in a silent prayer of thanks.

"We may live to see the end of this yet" he says, a smile crossing his face for the first time in days.

"Now we must use this time to think on what this has taught us... who were Lucas' allies? Who was he afraid of? There is still one wolf out there, and the sooner we are rid of it the more lives will be spared."
