"No, I haven't tried going back to sleep yet. But to be honest, I'm not exactly sure that I could right now... I'm not exactly tired yet. Nor would I really wish to go to sleep now before trying other options."

*Gares shrugs as best a kitten can, and flops on the ground, curling into a small, furry ball of black fluff. He keeps one eye a bit open, though, staring at Judith, as if to ask her if this was really what she had in mind.*

She shrugs.

Ok...When you got up what do you remember doing? Like do you remember what you were dreaming?... Bah I dunno, maybe Stington can help us out or maybe...

She looks for some tomes on vampires shape shifting.

When it comes to books with information on vampiric powers, Judith is in the best library in the world (to which humans are admitted, that is.) She quickly finds many lists and descriptions of vampiric powers, shape shifting amungst them. Gares's very young form and small size indicates that he only recently got his new ability. However none of the books have information on controling the powers, as they were all written by humans.

Thomas had been at the range, trying out a variety of handguns, as well as different rifles, to work out his frustrations.

" . . . 'ing make-work."

Aimee must've parted ways with Judith or seen something shiny or decided she was hungry. Otherwise she would've totally been all over that kitten.

She appears in the library and sees Judith looking over books.

"Hey, Deadeye, I thought I'd find you here," she greets before noticing Judith's fluffy little companion. She rushes over and scoops the kitten up before it can protest.

"It's SO CUTE!" she squees, holding Gares up but his uner-arms... er.. legs... then giving him a hug. "Where'd it come from?" she asks Judith excitedly.

OOC: If Omen were there, Gares would get a huge "What am I, chopped liver?" from him. The brains of the team indeed.

"It isn't my call, Thomas. And I'm not going to stick you behind a desk, although I have more than enough work of my own, and would love to share it. I'll probably stick you with Briscoe, and give you some smaller assignments together. Field work. Don't worry."

Jack draws his own pistol, and empties it into a target, then pushes the recall button.

"Now what I'm going to do with Hughes is a different story. I wouldn't give her a solo assignment if she was the last active duty field agent in the institute."

Judith tries not to chuckle.

Well lets just say he's a recent development.

Aimee continues to hug Gares. She strokes his fluffy little back and scratches behind his ears. "He, huh?" she confirms, then looks down at the kitty. "Aren't you ADORABLE? Where'd you come from, sweetie?"

This is undoubtably the cutest kitten Aimee has ever seen.

OOC: It's true. Gares has a charisma of +6, with a +2 kitten bonus. This kitten is as cute as physically possible under the current version of the rules.

"She could probably be some help with the paperwork. Especially if you let her see some of the casualty reports."

Thomas reloads, then shoots quickly, going for a nice tight grouping.

"When she sees the toll our operations take on us, as well as the problems we have with finding replacements, well . . ."

He reloads again.

"She's a good addition to the team. By her actions she makes me reconsider things I take for granted."

He grins.

"Plus, she's cute."

Thomas turns back to the target.

"If I could trust her to watch my back and not going off after civilians caught in the attacks I'd prefer her to the Yank. Still . . ."

With a last look at his target, Thomas turns to Jack.

"How much do we know about the kind of things old Dim is doing to Judith?"

"F--k all. I'm going to have Gares discuss with her, since he's the one who will be able to help her."

Jack fires into another target, and reloads.

"What's wrong with the Yank? He's a bit of a cowboy, but most of them are, and frankly, I think his carbine is a lot more effective than that crossbow Hughes carries."

Jack looks at the groupings on his two targets, which are tight, but clearly not tight enough, and frowns.

"The vatican is sending us another f--king Papist dog, and I'm volunteering her for PR duty. The job I have for you and Briscoe isn't for the soft-hearted."
