Beefy grumbles. He does not like tricks and puzzles.

"It could also be 'limit'." muses Enver. "And the 'e' of lever doesn't match the 'e' of the. If that is the. Aargh, this would be do much easier with something to write on!"

He studies the runes a bit longer, then asks "What's a five letter word with an h in the middle, preceded by an L?"

The walls are the same plain red stone that they saw in the hallway. They are almost entirely without decoration.

"Arrgh, this is driving me a little crazy," the Lady says. She looks at Pretty.

"You can't be the only rash person. We can test the runes first, see if they do anything when touched."

She reaches a hand out to the block, hesitates, then runs her hands over the string of sigils. She jumps back, just in case.

She feels a slight tingle in her hand, but that's it, no more. There's no reaction from the stone.

The Lady lets out her breath.

"Okay. Now to double-check the floor tiles..."

She flicks the sigil.

Ginger sees the lady going for the sigil and quickly moves next to the corresponding one, so that she can find it easier in case they're plunged into total darkness.

*flick*

Nothing happens.

The Lady stands up.

"Well. Hmmm."

She looks up at the lever. She sets her teeth.

"Okay, then, I'm going up."

She climbs to the top of the block, struggling a bit on her way.

"All right, which way? Light or darkness?"

"I've always been partial to light myself," says Pretty.

The block actually tilts back a little on the Lady's way up, causing her to nearly fall. Apparently it's lighter than it looks... or perhaps the Lady is just that heavy. It's definitely not locked down onto the floor. She does make it up top, however.

"Okay," The Lady shakes a little. "Okay."

She pulls the lever toward the sigil.

At first, it seems as if nothing happens. The lights stay on, everyone's fine.

Then everyone becomes of a hum in the air as the 'blood' of the floor drains away into six runnels, leaving the floor the same obsidian as the stone. Each runnel leads straight toward one of the six small blocks. Slowly, the scarlet red enters each block, seemingly into veins inside of each giving them a faint macabre obsidian and scarlet marble look.

The veins inside each block pulse, once, then twice... and then each block unfolds, revealing small skittering legs. A sigil glows to life on each main body as each 'block' becomes a knee high obsidian spider... each of which skitters toward the party.

"That may have been wrong!" the Lady cries, as she pulls the lever straight up and down.

Pretty kicks the nearest spider in, approximately, the face. IN APPROXIMATELY THE FACE!
