Welcome to Miskatonic University, one of the highest ranking and cosmically horrifying universities on the east coast!
Do you enjoy: Getting an education? Killing hordes of the undead? Destroying interdimensional monsters? Going mind-blowingly insane?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you have what it takes to attend Miskatonic University!
Visit our library, filled with an ungodly amount of... well, ungodly literature! Attend our medical school. You'll learn so well, you'll find you can cure death itself! Or maybe our engineering school. 'Cause no one cares if a robot dies!
Many more opportunities await you here at MU! Enroll now, people are dying to get in... _________________________________
So here's a run down. I'm combining the All Flesh Must Be Eaten system with the Call of Cthulhu system, combining story elements as well.
Character Creation:
First, choose a character type. There are three to choose from: Norm, Survivor and Inspired.
A Norm is someone who just wants to survive. They're a little above average, but no one special. They get 14 points for attributes, 5 points for qualities (up to 10 in drawbacks) and 30 points for skills. A Survivor is someone who wants to bring the fight to the zombies. They're tougher, smarter and stronger than normal. They get 20 points for attributes, 15 points for qualities (up to 10 in drawbacks) and 35 points for skills. An Inspired is someone who has a touch of supernatural in them. They're not as naturally talented as Survivors, but make up for it in supernatural abilities. They get 20 points for attributes, 10 points in qualities (up to 10 in drawbacks), 25 points for skills and 15 points for metaphysics.
Now for Attributes. From your type, distribute the points amongst these attributes: STRength DEXterity CONstitution INTelligence PERception' WILlpower
Attributes are one point per level up until five. Level six costs three additional points and is the max. Example: I want PER to be level six, so I spend eight points (5+3). Of course, Level six means your the best on the planet.
Secondary attributes and their formulas: Life Points: ((CON+STR)*4)+10 Endurance Points: ((CON+STR+WIL)*3)+5 Speed (in MPH): (CON+DEX)*2 Sanity: WIL*5 Essence Pools: Add all Attribute values together.
Qualities, Drawbacks and Skills: I'm having a hard time finding an easy to access list of these for you, so a work around would be you telling me a basic outline of your characters qualities, drawbacks and skills and we work out the specific numbers in PM.
Metaphysics: Inspired only. See above.
Possessions: This is what your character owns. Be sure to list any weapons, special items or vehicles here.
Finally, your character's name, occupation, sex, nationality, age, birthplace, degrees, mental disorders and anything else that can be put into a short bio.
If there are questions, comments or spontaneous marriage proposals, feel free to post or PM.

If I can get a decent character idea to coalesce, I'm in. Maybe an inspired who is an employee of some security firm like BlackEagle/BlackEagle (please note disclaimer at bottom of page.) Attending night classes at MU for whatever reason seems plausible. Maybe he wants to get his bar-tending certificate?

If I can get my hands on a copy of the two game systems in question I'll go ahead and start drawing up a character.

Nifty! Going to have to be Metaphysical. Just wouldn't make sense otherwise, especially considering what I'm planing on doing with it. :)
Probably going to do something similar with rifles too, especially for sniping. "It's like he can Will his shots to the target! How the Frack does he do that?!?!"

I'm still working out the fiddly bits, but I have my character concept: an overcaffeinated, hard-to-kill health nut who's a triathlete and handy with a blunt object as a weapon.

Maybe an engineering professor? And a reasonable robot army?

I'll get to work on the basic design once I get a copy of the gamebooks you mentioned, although since I'm having trouble finding them it might take a while.

Essentially, they overlap in setting and character creation. You've got Lovecraftian monsters controlling the zombies. Sanity is a CoC addition. Give or take a few skills, it's essentially AFMBE. And yes, that could be a disad.

I've been hit with sudden and unexpected busyness. Not sure when I'm gonna be able to get started on my character, but I'll have it done as soon as I can.
