All is well, yeah!
What with Christmas and new year's and it being midsummer, I'm just on a summer holiday. Having a great time, just not turning the computer on every day.

Sounds fair. R&R is good for ya, or so I've been told.
How many fate points does Felix have left?

I think the neighborhood troll is having some quality time with his precious.

I'd like to spend one for a two person ATV that can follow the path. Say it was in a trailer being pulled behind the truck.

Oh, hey. Random thought.
Way back when we bugged the palace and Raven's office, did we tell Zalasbra that the office had been bugged?

I think that ATV would be a waste of a FATE point. We already know the Troll goes down a canyon and climbs up the other side. I think we should just head to Thalassia.

CCC said a gully, and an ATV can handle those. Also from what I understand if we left for Thalasia now we'd get there before Gwerek. I'd rather we take the Blue Rose while we're still in this country. Every day Raven remains unchecked is another day we cannot breath easy.

A truck can't go through a gully. Perhaps an ATV can, but... this is a forest. It is Not Friendly Territory. There's close-growing trees, small cliffs, swampy bits, and basically every terrible bit of territory you can imagine.
However. This is important. The forest will be finite. There are roads which the Troll will need to cross before reaching Thalesia - long, straight, empty, truck-accessible roads. And several of them. (They're not tarred, but that won't stop you). Piper can even tell you exactly which roads are on a straight line between the beach where the Troll was and his lair. You'd have to go the long way round to get there before the Troll does, but... the long way round isn't that much longer, and your trucks are a lot faster than horseback travellers, and therefore faster than the Troll. (While the Troll is faster than a running man, he is not faster than a man on a horse). You can go the long way round, get to the road before the Troll, and take a bit of time to set up an ambush there. If you want to be sure that the Troll emerges from the forest right in the middle of your ambush (and not, say, a kilometer or so to the side) you could even spend that Fate point to ensure that you are precisely on target in your ambush preparations.
You can meet him before he crosses any borders, and you don't need to follow his route to do that.

Fair enough. If Piper can point the general way I'll spend that point to put us on point for an ambush.

I suppose this is the sort of thing an anti-material rifle was more or less made for...

Would I be correct that any mortar we might have brought along would be a company level weapon with a bore of 50-60mm, rather than a batallion level weapon with a bore around 81-82mm?

That seems reasonable. You've only got so much space on the trucks, after all.

Is Lady Sephrenia around, but keeping very quiet?
Oh, and have we actually seen the rose? Or where he's carrying it? If needs must, Arkady will tag Defensive Pacifist to make sure someone does.
