Avid sluggy reader here, who used to have a little used account... Alareun I think it might have been... or maybe Bathrobe Ninja. I forget.

My interest in Sluggy jumped up dramatically because of the "That Which Redeems" storyarc, which I feel is the best one the strip has had. However, I found to my dismay that when I tried to log in at my house, I could not get in even when not logged in. My assumption was that I had been caught in someone else's IP Ban, but I figured, eh, what the hell - I'd wait 'till I got to college and try there.

I go to college and I'm still blocked there. Which gets REALLY irritating when the strip gets really exciting with the whole climax thingies of part II. I sent a few emails /comments out to Thyla, but I never got a response, which I guess should be expected given as busy as she is.

Well, I get back home and I read today's "Ask Pete" thingamabobber and I go "Wow! I totally misunderstood what Torg meant when he said 'Redemption is overrated'!" and I try with some reservations to see if I can dig up some old threads here. Well, to my complete and total surprise, I can actually log in now! It's not my own computer, it's my mother's, so that may have something to do with it.

I really just want to know if anyone knows what has been going on? With the new forum format, were the old IP Bans lost or something? I'm pleased as punch I can log in now, but I'll be upset if I lose it again when I go back to college.

It's been pretty frustrating for me to keep seeing the "You have been banned from this forum, contact forum administrator for details" sign when I hardly used my old account here and I can't recall ever even getting moderator warnings at ANY site I've been to, so... yeah. Help would really be appreciated.

Very few people have ever been banned, and you certainly would have been notified if you were , but it is possible that an IP you posted from had other abusive users that caused the IP to be blocked.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But I'm back home, on what SHOULD be the same IP as this all started with, and I can get in. So... still supremely confused.

Who knows, really. Just be glad it's fixed!

My friend had the same problem. He had to do something with his cookies but I forget.
